The Steuben County Department of Veterans Affairs assists Veterans in their dealing with Federal and Indiana benefits.
- Obtaining your DD-214 military discharge.
- Filing claims for service connected or non-service connected disabilities.
- Education benefits for Veterans who contributed $100.00 for 12 months while in service.
- Education for Dependents of Veterans if the Veteran died or has a permanent total disability due to service.
- Burial allowances to Wartime Veterans who at the time of death were entitled to receive a pension or compensation, also when death occurs in a VA facility.
- Headstone or grave marker is available for any deceased veteran of wartime or peacetime service, who was discharged under conditions other than dishonorable.
- Hospitalization for Veterans, Nursing Home Care, Domiciliary Care, Prescription Drugs.
- Loans on Homes, Condominiums, Mobile Homes.
