The Public Health Nursing of the Steuben County Health Department provides health promotion and disease prevention for the residents of Steuben County.
Services we provide:
An immunization program for infants to adults
Adult & Child flu shots
TB tests
Blood pressure checks
Investigation and follow up of all communicable diseases

The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) along with recommendations from Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have made some changes for immunization requirements starting the 2010-2011 school year. These changes include: 1 meningitis vaccine, 1 tetanus booster, and the 2nd dose for varicella (Chicken Pox), or proof of disease, to be administered for the 6th grade students and higher.
If you have questions regarding your child's shot record you may contact your schools' nurse, the Health Department, or your family physician.

Additional clinics will be available both A.M. & P.M. in July and August
- Appointments may be made up to 2 months in advance
- Previous Immunization records & patient-signed consent form required
- There is no fee for immunizations, however the department does run on your donations and these are greatly appreciated.
- After no shows or several repeat cancellations, no further appointments will be permitted for one year. Appointments will not be made during immunization clinics.

Generally held in October in the Steuben County Community Center Auditorium. Date to be announced.
The clinic is open to seniors 55 and older and to anyone with a major medical problem. After the clinic, any remaining flu vaccinations will be available to the public.
